Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Modeler to join our team in designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-scale data models that support complex financial systems and business-critical analytics. This role focuses on creating scalable conceptual, logical, and physical data models while enabling efficient data integration, reporting, and decision-making across modern cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Data Modeling, SQL, Snowflake, JSON-based data structures, ETL processes, and Financial Services data architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise-scale applications and data platforms.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, data engineers, and analysts to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient data solutions.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to support analytics, reporting, and operational business needs.
  • Design and implement scalable data structures within Snowflake to support enterprise reporting and analytical workloads.
  • Build and manage modern data models capable of handling structured and semi-structured data, including JSON-based data architectures.
  • Ensure data models align with enterprise architecture standards, business objectives, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support data integration initiatives by working closely with ETL developers and data engineering teams.
  • Analyze existing data models and recommend improvements for scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Optimize database structures and query performance to improve reporting efficiency and overall system performance.
  • Participate in data architecture reviews and contribute to enterprise data modeling standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data migration, transformation, and modernization initiatives.
  • Ensure consistency, integrity, and quality across enterprise data assets through effective data modeling practices.
  • Communicate technical solutions effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance on data modeling methodologies, standards, and governance practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise data modeling and database design.
  • Proven experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models for large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with SQL, including query development, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Extensive experience working with Snowflake as a cloud data platform.
  • Experience designing and implementing JSON-based and semi-structured data models.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data integration and ETL processes.
  • Experience supporting analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives through effective data modeling.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and database design skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience working within Financial Services, Banking, Mortgage, or Capital Markets environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Multi-Family Mortgage, Housing Finance, or related financial domain data.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms beyond Snowflake, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with enterprise data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and modern data lake architectures.
  • Experience with data migration, modernization, and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to data cataloging, master data management (MDM), and metadata management solutions.
  • Experience working in consulting, client-facing, or enterprise delivery environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Understanding of data security, regulatory compliance, and financial data governance best practices.
  • Experience collaborating with enterprise architecture and data engineering teams on large-scale modernization programs.
