Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Scrum Master / Project Manager with strong expertise in Agile delivery, SAFe methodology, Kanban, Waterfall project management, and Mortgage domain experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading Agile teams, managing enterprise projects, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and ensuring successful delivery of business-critical initiatives while exceeding client expectations. This role also includes part-time Product Owner responsibilities, collaborating with business stakeholders to prioritize product backlogs, define user stories, and maximize business value across Mortgage and Financial Services applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams by facilitating Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
• Coach Agile teams on Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, Agile best practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Remove project impediments, proactively identify risks, and facilitate timely issue resolution to ensure successful sprint execution.
• Plan, execute, monitor, and deliver projects utilizing Agile, SAFe, Kanban, or Waterfall methodologies based on project requirements.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, resource allocation strategies, risk mitigation plans, and executive status reports.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and meet quality, budget, and client expectations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define product vision, roadmap, priorities, and business objectives.
• Create, refine, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog while translating business requirements into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, release planning, and product prioritization activities.
• Work closely with development, QA, business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of business value.
• Utilize SQL and NoSQL database knowledge to support requirement analysis, data validation, troubleshooting, reporting, and solution verification.
• Collaborate with technical teams to understand application architecture, data models, integrations, and system dependencies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
• Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, mitigation strategies, and delivery milestones to internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate stakeholder decision-making, conflict resolution, and effective communication across distributed teams.
• Mentor Agile teams while promoting accountability, ownership, collaboration, transparency, and high-performance delivery.
• Track project metrics, Agile KPIs, sprint velocity, team performance, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Support enterprise Agile transformation initiatives and promote Agile maturity across delivery teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, Project Manager, or similar Agile leadership role.
• Strong experience managing enterprise projects using Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Proven experience serving as both Scrum Master and Project Manager within enterprise Agile environments.
• Experience performing Product Owner responsibilities, including backlog prioritization, user story creation, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Hands-on knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or similar platforms.
• Excellent project planning, stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, cross-functional teams, and concurrent project initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience delivering complex projects on time while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
• Experience collaborating with distributed Agile teams in enterprise software development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the Mortgage, Banking, Financial Services, or Lending industry.
• Strong understanding of Mortgage Origination, Mortgage Servicing, Underwriting, Loan Processing, or related mortgage systems.
• Scrum Master certification such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
• SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or SAFe Agilist (SA) certification.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, or other Project Management certifications are highly desirable.
• Experience working with cloud-based applications and enterprise software delivery.
• Knowledge of enterprise system integrations, APIs, and modern software development practices.
• Experience supporting Agile transformation and organizational process improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience working in consulting, client-facing, or enterprise delivery environments.
