Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Senior Mortgage Data Analyst / Business Analyst to support a large-scale enterprise data transformation initiative for a leading financial services client. This role is ideal for a business-focused analyst who understands mortgage business processes, enterprise data, and modern cloud data platforms. You'll partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to ensure business processes are accurately represented within a modern enterprise data ecosystem. The ideal one will combine strong business analysis skills with deep experience supporting core mortgage sourcing or servicing operations and can translate business needs into data requirements that enable enterprise modernization.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform data lineage, data profiling, and source-to-target data mapping across enterprise systems to understand how data supports business processes and target-state capabilities.
• Define business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for enterprise data enablement teams.
• Analyze current-state and future-state business processes and identify transformation opportunities across enterprise mortgage applications.
• Partner with business stakeholders, Product Owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into enterprise data solutions.
• Analyze event-driven and entity-based data models while identifying business impacts, transformation rules, and data gaps.
• Support enterprise data governance initiatives by documenting business rules, metadata, critical data elements, and business glossaries.
• Coordinate QA and UAT activities to ensure delivered solutions satisfy business requirements.
• Support modernization initiatives involving enterprise mortgage sourcing and servicing applications.
• Utilize AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and other approved LLMs to improve business analysis, documentation, and data analysis efficiency.
• Supporting modernization of core mortgage sourcing or servicing applications.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting enterprise data, analytics, or technology transformation programs.
• Proven experience in data lineage, data profiling, data mapping, and business process analysis.
• Strong experience gathering and documenting business, functional, and technical requirements.
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and modern data ingestion architectures.
• Knowledge of enterprise data architecture, data governance, and data integration concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Experience in Mortgage business domain.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the secondary mortgage industry.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with enterprise data modernization and legacy system transformation projects.
• Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Agile project management tools.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted business analysis tools including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude.
• Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Scrum, or Agile certifications are a plus.
• Worked in business functions related to - Mortgage Sourcing: Loan Origination, Underwriting, Loan Quality, Loan Advisory/ Mortgage Servicing: Performing/Non-Performing Loans, Credit Risk Transfer (CRT), Transfer of Servicing, Servicing Operations.
